About Fetchr
A free, private, no-nonsense video downloader built for people who just want the file.
What Is Fetchr?
Fetchr is a free online video downloader that lets you save videos from YouTube, TikTok, Instagram, Twitter/X, Facebook, Reddit, Vimeo, and over 1,000 other platforms directly to your device. No account required. No software to install. Works in any browser on any device.
Paste a video URL, choose your quality (1080p, 720p, 480p, 360p, or MP3 audio), and click download. That's it.
Why We Built Fetchr
Most video downloader sites are covered in pop-ups, fake download buttons, and intrusive ads that make the experience miserable. Many require you to create an account or install browser extensions. Some quietly collect your browsing data.
Fetchr was built to be the opposite: a clean, fast tool that does exactly one thing well. No ads on the interface, no account required, no data collection beyond what's needed to process your download.
How Fetchr Works
Fetchr is powered by yt-dlp, an open-source video extraction library maintained by a large community of developers. When you submit a URL, Fetchr's server fetches the video from the source platform, processes it (merging video and audio streams if needed using FFmpeg), and makes the file available for you to download.
Downloaded files are stored on the server for 30 minutes and then permanently deleted. We don't keep logs of which URLs you submit.
Privacy
We take privacy seriously:
- No account or email address required
- Downloaded files are deleted automatically after 30 minutes
- We do not log or store the URLs you submit
- We do not sell data to third parties
- No tracking pixels or third-party analytics scripts
For full details, see our Privacy Policy.
Supported Platforms
Fetchr supports over 1,000 websites, including: YouTube, YouTube Shorts, TikTok, Instagram Reels, Instagram posts, Twitter/X, Facebook, Reddit, Vimeo, Dailymotion, Twitch clips, Rumble, Bilibili, and many more.
Limitations
Fetchr cannot download:
- Private or password-protected videos
- DRM-protected content (Netflix, Disney+, Amazon Prime Video, etc.)
- YouTube Premium-exclusive content
- Full YouTube playlists (single videos only)
- Live streams that are currently broadcasting
The Technology
Fetchr is built on open-source tools: yt-dlp for video extraction, FFmpeg for video processing, FastAPI for the web server, and Nginx for serving. The entire stack runs on a dedicated server — your downloads are never routed through third-party cloud services.
